How to book the best Indian Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Summer Winds A-402, Oceanfront Condo, in Indian Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
