Getting the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the best rental in Beaufort:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Better Beaufort Experience has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular New Bern destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
