Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the best New Bern rental:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. A Place at the Beach Unit 167 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific New Bern destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
