Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserve your New Bern vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Incredible Views - Magnificent Sunsets\nI Little Piece of Heaven\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
