How to book the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To find the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Waterfront, Poolside, King Bd, Ground-Floor, & WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
