Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the best New Bern rental home:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Aurora East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
