Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there.

My favorite spots here are the broad with outdoor areas, including dining, humongous sectional couches, and fire table to savor as the sun goes down. I appreciate that I can hear the waves crash from here.

You will have access to two units in the same property with this listing, upstairs and downstairs:

The entire home, top and bottom, will be yours. The driveway fits six cars, and there is street parking as well.

Less than 300 meters to miles of impressive, sandy beaches! Located on Atlantic Beach between the ocean and the sound, this is your ideal hideaway for fishing, swimming, and more.

Fort Macon State Park: This fort dates back to the 1800s, offers guided tours, hiking trails, & picnic areas.

Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores: See a wide variety of marine life & exhibits.

Fishing: You can fish from the beach, the pier, or charter boat out for deep-sea fishing.

About the Area

Located in Atlantic Beach, this vacation home is near the beach. North Carolina Maritime Museum and Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Fort Macon State Park and Beaufort Historic Site. North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway are also worth visiting. With snorkeling, parasailing, and windsurfing nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water.

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:

• Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
• Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
• Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
