Tips and Tricks to get the very best New Bern vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach Time has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
