Rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Beach Time has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
