How to book the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your New Bern rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coral Shores #4-Ocean Front Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific New Bern destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
