Emerald Isle rental property booking tips:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Keystone West West - Emerald Isle Paradise has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
