Strategies to get the optimal New Bern vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the right New Bern rental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
