- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the right New Bern rental home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Soundfront Complex, pool, steps from beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific New Bern attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental.
