o Blinds need to be kept closed during the heat of the day.
o Doors and windows should be closed when outside temperature is above 72 degrees.
o Manuals for most equipment are available in binders in the kitchen.

• NO FOOD LEFT in refrigerator or throughout the home.
• ALL TRASH is to be taken to outside bins BEFORE checkout.
• ALL DISHES are to be washed AND put away
• Please remove all personal effects (check under beds) we cannot save items left behind
• NO SMOKING in any part of the home or the decks due to extreme fire danger
• NO PETS violation will lead to a penalty fee and/or eviction (please respect other residents with sever allergies
• LOCK ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS before checking out.

Emerald Isle offers Family fun for everybody....with bicycle and running trails that run parallel to Emerald Dr, miniature golf, go carts, water slide, great shopping in Emerald Plantation, movie theater, eateries that include everything from pizza to burgers to Seafood. The Bogue Inlet Pier is a must see to find out what the "catch of the day" is. If you just need to relax, pull up a chair and savor the ocean waves while reading a good book. We've got you covered.

Emerald Isle also offers a Public Boat Ramp (no costs) located at Jean Preston Park about mid way the island. (near Chapel By the Sea). There is a play ground and public restroom located there as well. We have multiple kayak launch areas and parks within the city limits, including a Sound front park with dock located on Coast Guard Road and one on Cedar St. (great to go crabbing at) You may also appreciate Surf Fishing all along the 12 mile stretch of our elegant island. We have a Fishing Gear store and multiple Convenient Stores that offer bait, hooks and other fishing items you will need. Don't forget you need a Fishing License to Surf Fish but can enjoy fishing from the Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier by purchasing a fishing pass for the day or week.

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses.   • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
