Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To book the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Rx Pad, Soundfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
