Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Southwinds G10 (Ocean View) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
