Tips and Tricks to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking your New Bern vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Spacious & sophisticated beach retreat with balcony, games, W\/D, & ocean views has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
