How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To book the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect New Bern rental:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Spotless, comfortable and safe. Great location with excellent kitchen + backyard has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
