Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Beaufort:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Starfish DOG-FRiENDLY in the Historic District has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
