Sunflower Smile is a private lot in a wooded area with a big gorgeous field in front of it. It is conveniently located 4 miles from the Havelock Walmart and the Cherry Point back gate. It is about 30-40 mins. from Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach. The aquarium is fun to visit, historic downtown New Bern, Tryon Palace, and the impressive riverfront. Please send us a message about your sweet fur infant - breed and picture. We do work with military and workers in the area needing a longer stay. ????

Strategies for getting the best New Bern rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • To find the best value, change your family's New Bern vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Sunflower Smile has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
