Sunflower Smile is a private lot in a wooded area with a big handsome field in front of it. It is conveniently located 4 miles from the Havelock Walmart and the Cherry Point back gate. It is about 30-40 mins. from Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach. The aquarium is fun to visit, historic downtown New Bern, Tryon Palace, and the gorgeous riverfront. Please send us a message about your sweet fur infant - breed and picture. We do work with military and workers in the area needing a longer stay. ????

Finding the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sunflower Smile has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
