Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- To start, have your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The 19th Hole - Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
