Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular New Bern attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The Ocean Pearl - A Waterfront Beach Retreat\n\n has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
