Come appreciate the beauty of Emerald Isle in our BEACHFRONT duplex, Rustic Peacock West (or East or book BOTH)!
Located at the highly sought after area of the island called the Point.
We completely made over both sides of this property in 2018 including a new saltwater pool (shared between east and west sides of duplex), quartz counter tops, linens, appliances, paint, and floor throughout. SEE the NEW PHOTOS!
NEW in 2024!!! We have constructed a boardwalk all the way to the beach. Now it is even easier getting all of your beach gear out to the water.
You will adore the private walkway to the beach, deck overlooking a private pool (shared by both sides of duplex), ceiling fans in every room, covered parking, Wi-Fi, and Intelligent TVs in every room.
NEWLY ADDED enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water and NEW area to play cornhole. (Added in 2021)
All new beds in 2022.
Spend your days on the biggest section of the beach right out your door or relax in the private pool for a change before retiring into the cavernous and beachy amenities that the “Rustic Peacock” has to offer.
Being at the Point offers the option to play on the beach, picking up shells or walk around the inlet and discover the Sound.
Emerald Isle faces south so you have unobstructed vistas of the SUNRISE AND SUNSET from your upper and lower decks!
Watching dolphins swim and play in the surf is another favorite pastime.
The Rustic Peacock West is ideal for families, guys' retreats, or ladies’ getaways… Rent this duplex (5 BR, 3 BA) or both sides (10 BR, 6 BA) and bring whole family! Telephone to book both together. If the West side is booked for the dates you want, book The East side which is Vacation Rental By Owner #1290224. To rent both sides, see Vacation Rental By Owner #1421554.
Weekly prices include linens, towels, and cleaning - No Hidden Fees
This is a non-smoking, no family pets allowed home.
Rents Saturday to Saturday.
Pricing is per side, not the entire duplex. But if interested in both sides, contact us for availability.
This property (East and West) is our only rental so you can relax knowing you will be the focus of our attention! Telephone us anytime for tips on the local area.
Come stay at the Rustic Peacock where the striking Atlantic Ocean is in your backyard!

Tips for getting the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:
- Reserve your New Bern rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- First, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. AMAZING VIEWS!! Beachfront Duplex-West at the Point with a private POOL! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
