Rental home booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the best New Bern rental home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beachfront Condo, Amazing Ocean & Sound Views, 3rd Floor Southwinds, 2 Pools! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
