Beaufort vacation rental tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book the bestvacation home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New with Water Views, Pet Friendly, 5 minutes from Historic Beaufort Waterfront. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
