- Summer is high season in the New Bern area. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
