Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Indian Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the New Bern area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Delightful, newly built 4-bedroom house in Indian Beach. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual New Bern destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
