Booking the best New Bern rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer time is high season in New Bern. To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Downtown Blue Manor 1 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual New Bern beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
