Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Isle Be Back - Soundfront with Pool - 3BR 3BA - Walk to Beach! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
