How to find the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the New Bern area:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Patty's Beach House, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
