Beaufort is a appealing little historic NC town founded in 1709 which makes it the 3rd oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. The historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while appreciating vistas of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks. Water ferries transport visitors to close by Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. There are historic and ghost tours available daily that provide a rich history of the area, and one of Blackbeard’s legendary homes is just around the corner from our vacation home! Tour the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and walk or bicycle the tree lined streets of the historic neighborhoods. There are exceptional eateries by the waterfront to savor including annual events like the Food and Wine Weekend with winemakers and top chefs from around the world and the music festival. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure that you will find Beaufort as delightfully different as we do – and it's only 3 hours from Raleigh!

Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Unique, Great for Families, Walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
