Beaufort vacation rental tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Sunsets and Siestas in Beaufort, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
