Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Indian Beach. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking a perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. The High Tide Hideaway- Direct Sound front , pool, steps to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual New Bern attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
