Getting the best Pine Knoll Shores rental experience:

When to reserve a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking your New Bern rental home:

  • To start, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beachwalk 315 - 4BR, 4BA - Oceanfront Condo with Gourmet Kitchen has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
