Atlantic Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • To book the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront corner condo with balcony, washer\/dryer, AC, & pool access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific New Bern destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
