  • 4 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2300 square feet

Looking for a restful vacation, with just enough to keep the family entertained, but not be overwhelmed with hordes and traffic? Located on a peaceful island, just off the North Carolina Coast, this comfortable, 3 bedroom, 4 bath home is over 2300 square feet.

This home has 2 unique features - it is sound front with a private walkway through the woods to the private pier into the sound - ideal for fishing, swimming, kayaking, safe for kids! no competition from other folks! and it has 2 separate living areas - the top (3rd) floor is the main living area (more details to come!) while the ground floor is a great room with queen futon and dressers, and living area with couch, loveseat, entertainment center, full bath,(when folks need a little space, or peaceful, or you have teens or a couple who would like a little privacy)

A few more details -The top (3rd!) floor is the main living area, opening onto a sound front deck, with Adirondack chairs, and a grille. (and spectacular vistas!) The interior includes an open space kitchen, counter bar with 4 seats, dining area that seats 8, a full bath, and 2 separate seating areas! The main seating area includes traditional seating (couch, 2 side chairs), a enormous screen LG intelligent TV - (there is Spectrum internet to operate TV's, games, etc.). Off to the side, also facing the sound, is a reading/sleeping area. It has a queen sized sleeper futon, and 2 comfortable chairs and a bookshelf - (this is a public space and offers NO privacy - ideal for teens or kids, or the early riser in the family).
The kitchen is equipped with all standard appliances and dishes/silverware, pots and pans for feeding your crowd. You will also find enough basics - paper towels, TP, paper plates/cups, dish soap, laundry soap, coffee, sugar, etc -(you get the picture!) so you don't need to dash off to the store.

The middle floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. - complete with towels and clean linens! All bedrooms come with flatscreen TV's with Roku/internet access. (Please use your own credentials for specialty TV channels) The master has a queen sized bed and a 4 piece, ensuite, with jetted tub and 5 foot shower! The 2nd bedroom also has a queen sized bed. Both open onto the middle sound side deck with outdoor seating. The 3rd bedroom has a bunk with a "full" sized bottom and a single upper. These bedrooms 2 and 3 share a nice sized full bath. The washer and dryer are on this floor for handy access.

The ground floor can be used nearly as a separate suite. It has a queen sized sleeper futon, a full bath, and a separate TV/living area with couch and loveseat, as well as access to the backyard. It has interior stairs to the top 2 floors but if needed, the other floors can be accessed by the outside decks..

The home's private pier leads to the sound for fishing, clamming, sailing. It is a little shallow for bigger speedboats, except at high tide,. (We do NOT provide any recreational cars......) There is a local marina just 1 mile away in Salter Path (Indian Beach) where you launch water cars....and a rental place less than 2 miles away.

And there's more!....Entertainment!

The ocean/beach access is just 3 tenths of a mile away in Salter Path. It is recommended that folks with modest kids drive and make the 3 min. trip with toys, chairs, etc. since it is on the main road. It is a well-kept secret, because even on holiday weekends, it is painless to find parking and a 'spot' on the beach with some space to spread out your towels, and family - no "elbow to elbow", listening to someone else's music. It has outside showers, bathrooms, and grilles, and a good number of parking spaces, many of which are shaded. The beach is wide and sandy, and the water has a gradual slope out, providing tons of safe places to swim and skim board. (The home has an outside shower with hot and cold water to rinse off sandy feet.)

The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is just 2 miles away and provides marvelous viewing, touch tanks, nature trails, as well as programs for all age levels!

A modest amusement park and 2 theaters are within a few mins. drive and provide change of pace activities when you a need a break from the sun, sea and salt. There also golf courses -https://www.emeraldislerealty.com/blog/top-emerald-isle-nc-area-golf-courses

Everything you would need for a peaceful vacation is less than 15 mins. away

Morehead City, Cape Carteret, and Beaufort are modest close by (less than 20 miles!) towns with tons of appeal, as well as art galleries, local museums, antique stores and fresh shopping. New Bern, NC - the first NC state capital- is 45 mins. away and has a real castle, and many historic amenities.

We do not wish to be rude or unwelcoming, but.....
WE DO NOT RENT TO GROUPS OF UNRELATED FOLKS.
And a Disclaimer:
Please be aware that we are in a private subdivision and are responsible to our HOA. There is limited parking - 3 in the driveway, 1 on the street - max..... (YOU MAY NOT PARK IN ANY NEIGHBOR'S DRIVE WHETHER THEY APPEAR TO BE AT HOME OR NOT!)

Tricks and tips to get the perfect Indian Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Single family home, but space for 2 families or multigenerational stays! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain New Bern destination you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
