Our top Atlantic Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Spacious ocean view home. Just a 3 minute walk to the beach! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific New Bern destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
