How to get the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your New Bern vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. The Green Flash in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
