New Bern vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserve your New Bern rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your New Bern rental:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. The Green Flash in Pine Knoll Shores, NC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
