Get the most from your rental budget:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite New Bern restaurants and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. SeaSpray 315, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.

  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
