How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- To start, have your group choose dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Brand New Customized Oceanfront Home has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual New Bern beach you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
