Finding the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the best New Bern rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean-front residence with unparalleled views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
