Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the New Bern area. Book your New Bern rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Tidal Treasure 10% of for a 7-night booking! Bring your boat! Pet friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
