This area has a great deal to offer for everybody in the family. There are deep sea fishing/ocean charters available on the causeway and in Morehead City, pier fishing, a short walk down the beach, surf fishing, boat units, kayak units , bicycle units, jet skiing, and para-sailing. The Rachel Carson Preserve is also close by. Water Taxi boats leave from both Beaufort and Morehead City to the barrier islands [Shackelford Banks and the Cape Lookout Light House and National Seashore] for charming excursions that include seeing the native wild Horses, shelling, fishing, birding, camping, lighthouse climbing, and touring historic villages as well as the working Cape Lookout Light House. The whole family will savor a day on the water.
Or plan a trip to Harkers Island to see the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum with handsome hand carved Duck Decoys or the Cape Lookout National Seashore Visitors Center. If you prefer a ferry ride, take the ferry from Cedar Point to Ocarcoke, a cozy, beautiful island/village that is accessible by water only. For those that prefer dry land, there are plenty of cute stores and eateries with delicious local seafood. Start the day at the Fort Macon State Park exploring the Fort and visitors center, then have a delicious seafood lunch and head to the Aquarium for a cool afternoon learning about local sea life and coastal history. The gift shop here is one of the best around!
This is the ideal beach hideaway for you and your family. There is plenty to do for each family member or just relax and watch the waves roll in from your front deck. It is so comfortable and calming you will not want to go home! Honestly the photos don't do it justice.

Tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your New Bern vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Atlantic Beach Circle, GREAT OCEAN VIEWS!! BEAUTIFUL 2 BR\/2 bath LUXURY CONDO has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
