Tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your New Bern rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 3rd row home with PRIVATE POOL AND TIKI BAR has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
