- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
