This review from a guest says it best! Thanks Patricia! "Clamalot is spectacular!
This was our best experience with Vacation Rental By Owner yet. The property owner - Robert Rose-has put time and effort into creating a space that is clean, striking, unique and comfortable. The home has historical books and items from the community that create a true sense of "space". The area has many family friendly things to do, fresh seafood, and a laid back vibe. Rob was also communicative and prompt in his responses regarding check in and check out. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property."

A amazing vacation offering in Historic Beaufort NC! Splendid three bedroom two-story home with off street parking and room for your boat. First floor has a sizable living room, well equipped eat in kitchen with new stainless appliances, two bedrooms and one full bath, and a dining room. Upstairs has a huge bedroom with two 3/4 beds and a sitting area, a nook with desk and a full bath. Wood floors throughout, the kitchen is newly refreshed, new two zone air conditioning upstairs and down, and newly painted and decorated.

The kitchen is very well equipped for a serious prepare, and there is everyday dishwasher safe china, glass and silverware, as well as an broad collection of vintage barware, crystal and china for settings suitable for any occasion. ( glass and dishware with gold decoration must be hand washed-plenty others dishwasher safe)

The back yard is humongous, has charcoal park style grille, 4 Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and a enormous picnic table.

All of the beds are new, the bed linens include 100% cotton sheets, there are reading lights beside the beds to appreciate books from a huge collection, with many focused on Beaufort.

Amazon Alexa in living room, and Amazon dots in laundry room and in all bedrooms for music, news, weather, alarms, you name it! ( These are not surveillance devices. Feel complimentary to unplug if the spook you but remember to plug back in for next guests)

This is my second home as well, and has tons of antiques, art, books and collectibles not usually found in a vacation rental. No Ikea here!

New Bern vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Historic Beaufort NC House, 3-Bedroom 2-Story, Big Yard, Walk\/Bike Everywhere has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
