Tips to get the perfect New Bern rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. SeaSpray 117 Located in Oceanfront Complex Ocean Views Steps Away from Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
